ASIC Hardware Deployment & Tuning Masterclass
A comprehensive two-day intensive workshop covering hands-on ASIC setup, power distribution, thermal ducting, and firmware calibration.
Target Audience & Prerequisites
Who this is for: Beginner to intermediate operators, farm owners with excess solar/power, and technicians seeking structured, safe physical hardware deployment skills.
Lead Instructor: Callum Vance & Marcus Finch (Senior Mining Hardware Engineers)
Preparation: Bring closed-toe work boots, notebook, and a laptop with an Ethernet port or USB adapter for network configuration labs. All tools and testing apparatus are provided on-site.
Safety Constraints: Strict physical safety adherence required around high-voltage testing benches. Participants must follow instructor safety commands at all times.
Delivered Outcome & Real Result
Participants gain the practical capability to safely calculate circuit loads, wire PDU systems, design negative-pressure airflow enclosures, replace faulty fans, apply custom thermal interface materials, and optimize miner efficiency down to target Joules per Terahash (J/TH).
Curriculum & Technical Scope
Core Topics Covered
- ✓ 240V / 415V electrical safety standards for Australian installations (AS/NZS 3000 compliance fundamentals)

Operational Stages & Delivery Breakdown
Phase 1: Power & Electrical Safety
Inspect 32A single-phase and three-phase input supplies, calculate line drops, examine thermal circuit breakers, and practice proper grounding verification.
Phase 2: Thermal Management & Enclosure Building
Build acoustic-dampened intake and exhaust boxes, compute ambient-to-exhaust delta T, and balance hot-aisle cold-aisle containment.
Phase 3: Hardware Teardown & Hashboard Servicing
Remove hashboards, test domain voltages, replace dried thermal paste with high-conductivity pads, and reseat control ribbons.
Phase 4: Firmware Calibration & Operational Efficiency
Flash custom firmware, undervolt individual chip chains, benchmark wattage draw against hash output, and lock in optimal J/TH efficiency profiles.
