Target Audience & Prerequisites

Who this is for: Intermediate operators and technical hobbyists who want to diagnose and repair common hardware faults rather than shipping units overseas.

Lead Instructor: Marcus Finch (Electronics Specialist)

Preparation: Basic familiarity with electronics and using a digital multimeter is recommended.

Safety Constraints: Work involves high heat tools (350°C+). Adherence to eye protection and ventilation guidelines is mandatory.

The ability to systematically trace test-point signals (CLK, TX, RX, RST, BO) using multimeters and oscilloscopes, pinpoint dead chips, and re-flow cold solder joints safely.

Operational Stages & Delivery Breakdown

1. Signal Flow Theory

Understand how clock, reset, and serial data travel through daisy-chained ASIC chip series.

2. Test Fixture Analysis

Connect boards to diagnostic fixtures and decode kernel logs to identify the exact failing chip number.

3. Physical Rework Practice

Practice controlled heating, solder paste application, and chip alignment on test boards.

4. Verification & Stress Test

Re-test repaired boards under simulated load in our isolated test chamber.
